TypeLiya Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 13, 2026

Typed content is processed locally. TypeLiya does not save typed text, transmit it to TypeLiya servers, keep browsing history, or use analytics, ads, telemetry, or remote conversion services.

Your text stays on your device

TypeLiya converts phonetic keyboard input to Sinhala locally. A temporary active-word buffer exists only while composing and is discarded when the word is committed, focus changes, or typing is disabled.

Playground text exists only while its extension page remains open. TypeLiya does not save typed or clipboard content or send it to a TypeLiya-controlled server.

  • No typed-content storage by TypeLiya.
  • No remote transliteration or conversion service.
  • No analytics, advertising, or telemetry.
  • No password or browsing-history collection.
  • No sale of user data.

Local preferences

TypeLiya stores only product preferences needed to provide the local typing experience, including enabled state, keyboard method, excluded domains, and appearance. It checks the current page context for site controls but does not maintain a visited-page log.

Website access

HTTP and HTTPS website access is required so the local content script can run inside supported fields and frames. Known password, payment, OTP, code-editor, and other identifiable sensitive inputs are skipped where TypeLiya can detect them.

Custom websites can mislabel fields, so users can disable TypeLiya globally or for a specific domain. Websites still receive text the user intentionally enters under those websites' own privacy policies.

Data deletion

Users can reset TypeLiya preferences from Settings or remove the extension to remove its saved local preferences.

The following permission descriptions reflect the current extension manifest and product behavior.

Stores local typing preferences such as enabled state, keyboard method, website exclusions, and appearance.

HTTP/HTTPS website access

Allows the packaged typing controller to run in supported website fields and frames and lets TypeLiya apply site-specific controls. It does not keep a browsing-history log.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before or alongside the release that introduces those changes.
