TypeLiya Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 9, 2026

Typed content is processed locally. TypeLiya does not save typed text, transmit it to TypeLiya servers, collect browsing history, or use analytics, ads, telemetry, or remote conversion services.

Your text stays on your device

TypeLiya processes phonetic input locally to insert Sinhala in supported fields. A temporary active-word buffer exists in memory while composing and is discarded when the word is committed, focus changes, or Sinhala typing is disabled.

  • No typed content is transmitted to TypeLiya servers.
  • No typed content or clipboard content is saved by TypeLiya.
  • No analytics, advertising, telemetry, or remote conversion services are used.
  • No password collection or browsing-history collection.
  • No sale of user data.

Local settings

TypeLiya stores only its enabled state and excluded domains in local extension storage. It uses the current page context to determine whether typing should be active, but it does not keep a visited-page log.

Website access

Access to HTTP and HTTPS websites is required so the packaged typing controller can operate in supported fields and frames. TypeLiya skips known sensitive inputs and provides a site exclusion control for pages where the user does not want the extension active.

Websites still receive text that the user intentionally enters into their own fields under those websites' privacy policies.

Data deletion

Users can reset TypeLiya preferences from its settings or remove the extension to remove its local settings.

The following permission descriptions reflect the current extension manifest and product behavior.

Allows the local typing controller to run in supported fields and frames across websites and lets TypeLiya enforce per-site exclusions.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before or alongside the release that introduces those changes.
