Claude Utilities Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026

Everything stays in your browser. Claude Utilities has no server, makes no network requests of its own, and has no analytics, tracking, advertising, or remote code.

What the extension stores, and where

All data is kept with the browser's extension storage APIs on your device.

  • Settings (delay, allow and never-allow lists) in chrome.storage.sync. If browser sync is on, your browser may sync them between your own devices.
  • Saved prompts (title and text you enter) in chrome.storage.local until you delete them or remove the extension.
  • Activity log (time and tool name of each auto-accepted or cancelled prompt) in chrome.storage.local, deleted automatically after 24 hours or when you click Clear.
  • Per-tab on/off switches in chrome.storage.session, cleared when the tab closes or the browser restarts.

What the extension reads on claude.ai

In tabs where auto-accept is switched on, it reads the permission prompt on the page (the tool name and the "Allow once" button). It does not read or store your conversations.

When you click Insert or From chat in the popup, it reads or appends to the chat input of the current claude.ai tab. The text is only placed into the page or into your saved prompts in local storage.

What the extension does not do

Claude Utilities has no server and makes no network requests of its own. It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party services, does not sell or transfer data, and does not load or run remote code.

Your control and data deletion

You can export everything from Settings → Export data, delete prompts, and clear activity from the popup. Removing the extension deletes all of its stored data from your browser.

Claude Utilities is an unofficial, independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the makers of Claude.

Permissions used

The following permission descriptions reflect the current extension manifest and product behavior.

claude.ai host access

Runs the auto-accept script on claude.ai and lets the popup check whether the current tab is claude.ai.

scripting

Inserts a saved prompt into, or reads the text of, the chat box of the current claude.ai tab when you click Insert or From chat.

storage

Saves settings, prompts, per-tab switches, and the 24-hour activity log in the browser.

alarms

Runs an hourly cleanup that deletes activity entries older than 24 hours.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before or alongside the release that introduces those changes.
