Tokenwatch

AI usage limits in one compact browser popup.

Tokenwatch uses existing signed-in browser sessions to read usage windows exposed by supported AI services, then presents reset timing, provider controls, warning thresholds, and recent successful usage in a compact popup. Version 1.2 adds duration-aware ChatGPT limits, including monthly Free and Go windows, while keeping provider data out of a Tokenwatch-controlled backend.

What it does

Tokenwatch brings Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, and optional Antigravity usage visibility into one local-first Chromium extension.

  • Claude session and weekly usage with reset timing.
  • ChatGPT / Codex usage windows derived from provider-reported durations, including monthly Free and Go limits.
  • Gemini usage where the signed-in Google account exposes it.
  • Optional local companion integration for Antigravity usage through Chrome Native Messaging.
  • Per-provider enable/disable controls, custom ordering, and manual refresh.
  • Configurable toolbar warning threshold with reset-aware badge and alarm behavior.
  • Local successful-usage cache so recent values remain available during transient provider failures.

Permissions

Each permission is listed with the reason it exists. Optional permissions are requested only when the related feature is used.

cookies

Reads Claude's active-organization cookie required to request usage for the signed-in Claude organization.

tabs

Finds already-open signed-in ChatGPT and Gemini tabs used for authenticated page-context usage reads.

scripting

Runs packaged Tokenwatch usage-reading code inside signed-in ChatGPT and Gemini page contexts. It does not download remote executable code.

storage

Stores provider preferences, ordering, warning threshold, and the most recent successful usage snapshot locally.

alarms

Schedules reset-aware cleanup of toolbar warning state around known provider reset windows.

Claude / ChatGPT / Gemini host access

Restricts browser-provider access to the supported provider domains needed to retrieve the user's own usage information.

nativeMessagingoptional

Connects only to the locally installed Tokenwatch companion when the optional Antigravity integration is enabled.
