Tokenwatch

AI usage limits in one compact browser popup.

Tokenwatch uses existing signed-in browser sessions to read the usage windows exposed by supported AI services, then presents reset times, warning thresholds, provider ordering, and recent successful usage in a compact popup. Core provider data is not sent to a Tokenwatch backend.

What it does

Tokenwatch brings Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, and optional Antigravity usage visibility into one local-first Chromium extension.

  • Claude session and weekly usage with reset timing.
  • ChatGPT / Codex primary and secondary usage windows.
  • Gemini usage where the signed-in Google account exposes it.
  • Optional local companion integration for Antigravity usage.
  • Per-provider enable/disable controls and custom ordering.
  • Configurable toolbar warning threshold and reset-aware badge state.
  • Local successful-usage cache for resilience during transient provider failures.

Permissions

Each permission is listed with the reason it exists. Optional permissions are requested only when the related feature is used.

cookies

Reads Claude's active-organization cookie required to request the signed-in user's usage data.

tabs

Finds already-open signed-in ChatGPT and Gemini tabs used for authenticated page-context usage reads.

scripting

Runs packaged usage-reading code inside the signed-in ChatGPT and Gemini page context. No remote JavaScript is executed.

storage

Stores local provider preferences, ordering, warning threshold, and the most recent successful usage snapshot.

alarms

Schedules reset-aware clearing of toolbar warning state around provider reset windows.

host access

Limits provider access to the Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini domains needed to retrieve the user's own usage information.

nativeMessagingoptional

Connects only to the locally installed Tokenwatch companion when the optional Antigravity integration is enabled.
