QuotaLK

Sri Lankan internet usage from multiple providers in one browser extension.

QuotaLK is a multi-provider usage companion for Sri Lankan internet connections. It talks directly to supported providers using the user's existing signed-in browser sessions, keeps normalized usage snapshots and preferences locally, revalidates stale data, retains the last complete snapshot on refresh failures, and can surface low-allowance alerts across enabled connections.

What it does

QuotaLK combines Dialog, SLT-Mobitel, and Starlink usage into one Chromium extension with cached snapshots, optional background refresh, connection controls, and low-allowance alerts.

  • Dialog, SLT-Mobitel, and Starlink provider support from one popup.
  • Multiple connections with provider enable/disable controls and remembered selection.
  • Local cached usage shown immediately, with stale data revalidated in the background.
  • Manual refresh with shared in-flight requests and retention of the last complete data on provider failures.
  • Optional background polling through Chrome alarms with retry backoff after failures.
  • Low-allowance alerts, extension badge state, and persistent dismissals.
  • Provider-specific optional host permissions instead of permanent blanket provider access.
  • Shared tested provider/parsing core also used by the independently publishable OrbitMeter build.

Permissions

Each permission is listed with the reason it exists. Optional permissions are requested only when the related feature is used.

storage

Stores normalized usage snapshots, preferences, provider settings, refresh status, alert dismissals, and selected connection state locally.

alarms

Runs user-selected background refresh intervals and restores polling after browser or service-worker restarts.

scripting

Supports QuotaLK provider-specific browser-context integration where required. OrbitMeter does not request this permission.

Dialog host accessoptional

Requested for Dialog connections so QuotaLK can use the user's existing signed-in Dialog session to retrieve first-party usage data.

SLT-Mobitel host accessoptional

Requested for SLT-Mobitel connections so QuotaLK can retrieve supported usage information from the provider's first-party services.

Starlink host accessoptional

Requested for Starlink connections so QuotaLK can retrieve supported account and usage information from starlink.com using the user's existing session.
