Office Escape Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 13, 2026

Office Escape is extension-only and local-first. It has no host permissions and does not read browsing history, tabs, cookies, arbitrary webpage content, passwords, or authentication credentials.

Extension-only architecture

Office Escape now runs entirely as a Manifest V3 browser extension. There is no Office Escape web application, user account, Supabase project, Vercel runtime, or remote configuration service receiving extension state.

Data stored locally

The extension stores the information required to calculate and display the workday locally in chrome.storage.local.

  • Per-day schedules and custom recurring events.
  • Display and toolbar preferences.
  • Work-session and extra-shift state.
  • Reminder preferences and recent reminder identifiers used to avoid duplicate notifications.

Data Office Escape does not access

Office Escape requests no host permissions. It does not read browsing history, open-tab data, cookies, arbitrary webpage content, passwords, or authentication credentials.

Notifications

Browser notifications are optional. The notifications permission is requested only after the user explicitly enables a reminder feature and is used only for the configured Office Escape reminders.

Data deletion

Removing Office Escape removes its extension-local storage. Users can also change or reset schedules, events, work-session state, and reminder preferences from the extension settings page.

Permissions used

The following permission descriptions reflect the current extension manifest and product behavior.

storage

Stores schedules, custom events, display preferences, work-session state, reminder preferences, and recent reminder state locally in the browser.

alarms

Schedules local countdown/reset and reminder timing without requiring a continuously running background page.

notificationsoptional

Requested only after the user enables reminder features and used only for Office Escape notifications.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before or alongside the release that introduces those changes.
